Part 1 of 3

A man cleaned Tom's school.
He came at half past six every morning, before anybody else. He was still there at five in the evening, emptying the bins.
The children called him "the cleaner". Not to be mean. They just never thought about it.
Nobody had ever told Tom to say hello. The man was simply part of the building, like the noticeboard or the bell.
Tom walked past him twice a day for two and a half years. He never once said good morning. He could not have told you one single thing about him.
That is the end of part 1.
